Patient Care Representative

Contribute to the goals of Shields Health Care Group by providing exceptional customer service with professionalism, efficiency, and accuracy. This is a per-diem role.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients, collect necessary copay/deductible/co-insurance, and explain the consent form to be completed.
  • Assist patients with iPad check-in process, troubleshoot issues, and provide feedback.
  • Recognize and utilize language services when needed.
  • Distribute films/CDs while maintaining HIPAA and Patient Privacy Policy compliance.
  • Collaborate with technologists/radiologists to ensure proper patient flow.
  • Process outgoing and incoming US and inter-office mail and UPS deliveries.
  • Prepare setup for the next day’s appointment schedule and communicate potential issues.
  • Provide and respect confidentiality of all customer groups.
  • Verify and enter necessary information into systems.
  • Respond appropriately to scheduling emergency patient situations.
  • Support Customer Care with machine utilization by filling the template (utilizing waitlist, 1/1 and 7/4).
  • Answer patient and doctor concerns with accuracy, efficiency, and professionalism.
  • Keep management informed of situations impacting the company, departments, or customer groups.
  • Stay current on policy or procedure changes that modify daily work functions.
  • Maintain copay/petty cash accuracy and make daily bank deposits.
  • Assist with onboarding and training of new employees.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
  • Work to maintain survey return rates in conjunction with company guidelines and goals.
  • Collaborate with multi-departments to ensure workflow efficiencies.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Excellent communication skills and computer proficiency.
  • Attention to detail and typing accuracy.
  • Ability to follow instructions with minimal supervision.
  • Proven ability to multitask and exceed customer expectations.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while performing data entry and phone-based information intake (can be met with or without reasonable accommodation).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Medical office or healthcare administration courses.
  • Knowledge of anatomy, medical terminology, and insurance requirements.

Pay

Pay range for this position is $17–29/hour, with benefits. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
