Patient Care Nurse Assistant - Pulmonary/Integrated Care

The G91 Pulmonary/Integrated Care Unit at Cleveland Clinic Main Campus services higher acuity pulmonary step‑down patients. As a PCNA on this team, you will assist fellow caregivers with bedside attention, including performing oral care, monitoring fluid intake, collecting specimens and checking blood sugar. You will also fulfill interdepartmental patient transfers and discharges as needed. This position offers an excellent way to enhance your nursing skills while making a lasting difference in the lives of patients and their families every day.

Responsibilities

• Provide or assist with patient care under the supervision of an RN, such as taking vital signs and weight, assisting patients with personal care, point of care testing, dressing changes, applying external monitoring devices and removing urinary Foley Catheters.
• Report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to an RN.
• Assist with keeping patients’ rooms clean and orderly.

Minimum qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross upon or within the new hire period
• Nursing students must have BLS Certification prior to hire
• Military experience as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) is considered
• Knowledge of basic medical procedures and equipment

Preferred qualifications

• State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) Certification

Physical requirements

Requires full body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity with good eye‑hand coordination; involves extensive standing and walking. Medium Work – exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work. Personal Protective Equipment: follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay

Pay range: minimum hourly $18.25 – maximum hourly $24.95. The pay range displayed reflects the anticipated range for new hires; actual compensation will be determined based on work history, experience, skill set and education. This range does not include shift differentials, overtime, or the value of Cleveland Clinic’s benefits package (healthcare, dental and vision benefits, retirement savings account contributions, etc.).

Schedule

A caregiver in this position works days, 7:00 am – 7:30 pm.
