Patient Care Intern II - Central Resource Office - PER DIEM

Position Overview

The Patient Care Intern II position is year-round.

Essential Functions

• Provides direct patient care including bathing, hygiene, toileting, and feeding assist
• Obtains and document vital signs, document intake and output, and other patient observations
• Performs phlebotomy, glucometer testing and EKG’s
• Recognizes and reports changes in patient condition in a timely manner
• Responds to call lights and assist with patient needs
• Aid with patient mobility, transfers, and ambulation using safe patient handing techniques
• Maintains a clean, safe, and organized patient environment
• Serves as a patient companion or observer when needed
• Communicates effectively with patients, families and team members

Minimum Requirements

• Education: High school diploma or equivalency, currently enrolled in an accredited Nursing program or healthcare related field (with verification of enrollment and status)
• Experience: One completed clinical or practicum rotation required. Prior patient care experience (CNA, or equivalent) preferred
• Other Credentials: AHA BLS

• Frequent physical demands include: Sitting , Standing , Walking , Carry objects , Push/Pull , Twisting , Bending , Reaching forward , Reaching overhead , Squat/kneel/crawl
• Occasional physical demands include: Climbing (e.g., stairs or ladders) , Wrist position deviation , Pinching/fine motor activities , Keyboard use/repetitive motion
• Continuous physical demands include: Talk or Hear
• Lifting Floor to Waist 35 lbs. Lifting Waist Level and Above 25 lbs.
