Patient Care Attendant

About the role

VCA SylvaniaVET Animal Hospital is seeking a compassionate, dependable Part-Time Patient Care Attendant to join our dedicated team. This role offers a part-time opportunity, roughly 20 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Safely restrain patients for examinations, treatments, and procedures.
• Prepare and organize surgical packs and treatment areas.
• Provide attentive care for hospitalized patients, including offering food, water, clean bedding, and supervised walks.
• Clean and disinfect kennels, treatment areas, and hospital spaces to maintain a safe and sanitary environment.
• Perform general hospital support duties such as laundry, sweeping, mopping, restocking supplies, and helping maintain medical equipment.
• Absorb and assist wherever needed to support outstanding patient care and a positive client experience.

Requirements

• Genuine passion for animal care and wellbeing.
• Dependable, organized, and eager to learn.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced veterinary setting.
• Able to lift and restrain animals safely and perform the physical duties required of the role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in a veterinary setting preferred but not required.
• Ability to lift and move animals up to 50 pounds.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
