PATIENT CARE ASST- MRICU- 32HR Day Shift (7a-3:30p)

Responsibilities

• Provides direct and indirect patient care duties under the guidance and direction of the Registered Nurse.
• Responsible for implementing components of the plan of care based on physical, psychosocial and spiritual needs.
• Provides comfort, safety and emergency measures; activities of daily living: personal care needs, nutritional and elimination needs.
• Measures vital signs, performs ECGs, and capillary blood glucose needs.
• Observes and reports the functioning of equipment, the results of treatments, condition of dressings and any change in patient condition.
• Incorporates the concepts of the Hospital's Customer Service Program into all aspects of patient care activities (i.e. confidentiality, responsiveness, caring).
• Accountable to the Nurse Manager or designee for all activities.
• Adheres to policies and procedures of the department.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent Required.
• Combination of relevant education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
• Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant or Medical Assistant Program or completion of at least one clinical rotation in an accredited Nursing program Preferred.
• 1 year experience in a patient care role Preferred.
• Basic Life Support Required.
• Certified Medical Assistant Preferred.
• Certified Nursing Assistant Preferred.
• If certification is not present at hire, employee must successfully complete the onsite nursing certification program within 90 days of hire.
