About the role
Provides direct and indirect patient care duties under the guidance and direction of the Registered Nurse. Responsible for implementing components of the plan of care based on physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs.
Responsibilities
- Provides comfort, safety, and emergency measures
- Assists with activities of daily living: personal care needs, nutritional and elimination needs
- Measures vital signs, performs ECGs, and capillary blood glucose tests
- Observes and reports the functioning of equipment, results of treatments, condition of dressings, and any change in patient condition
- Incorporates the hospital's Customer Service Program into all aspects of patient care activities (e.g., confidentiality, responsiveness, caring)
- Adheres to policies and procedures of the department
- Accountable to the Nurse Manager or designee for all activities
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
- Combination of relevant education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree
- Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant Program or completion of at least one clinical rotation in an accredited Nursing program (Preferred)
- Basic Life Support certification (Required)
- If certification is not present at hire, employee must successfully complete the onsite nursing certification program within 90 days of hire
Qualifications
- 1 year experience in a patient care role (Preferred)
- Certified Medical Assistant (Preferred)
- Certified Nursing Assistant (Preferred)
