Patient Care Associate - Med/Surg 2nd Floor - Full Time - Nights

About the Role

Under the direction of the RN or LPN, assists in the individualized care of the patient to achieve the patient's highest level of wellness. Works cooperatively with others as part of a team; recognizes the importance of group goals. Performs designated clinical procedures and non-clinical support tasks essential to providing care to the patient.

Requirements

• High school diploma, G.E.D, CNA/CPTC, or enrolled in a healthcare career program through their high school curriculum.
• Current co-worker of Mercy (eligible candidates).
• No prior experience required; if no previous experience, completion of a required 175-hour training program provided by Mercy during new hire orientation (must be completed within 90 days of hire).
• BLS certification required within one month of hire.
• Completion of PCA competencies within 3 months of hire.

Qualifications

Minimum Physical Requirements

• Push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Prolonged standing and walking each shift.
• Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
