Patient Care Associate I (Progressive Care Unit)
Sign-on/retention bonus totaling $3,000 for full-time Patient Care Associates.
About the role
Provides direct patient care appropriate to age, culture, and developmental needs under the direction of the Professional Nurse. Works closely with patients to provide physical assistance with daily living tasks, such as dressing, bathing, feeding, toileting, vital signs, catheter care, answering call lights, assisting with ambulation, turning, and ensuring patient safety. Technical skills may include obtaining 12 lead EKG, setting up respiratory equipment, glucometer monitoring, bladder catheterization, and transcribing orders when indicated.
Schedule
This is a full-time position with day and evening shifts, including 8- and 12-hour shifts. Rotating weekends and holidays as required.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Excellent bedside manner and customer service skills
- Computer skills
- Successful completion of applicable clearances as outlined in Human Resources policy HR-106 within 90 days of commencing employment
Qualifications (Preferred)
- Successful completion of a nursing assistant program (with proof of completion)
- Nursing student after successful completion of their first quarter/semester of nursing school
- Previous nursing assistant experience
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
- BCLS certification
