Patient Care Associate I

About the role

Provides direct patient care appropriate to age, culture, and developmental needs under the direction of the Professional Nurse. Works closely with patients to provide physical assistance with daily living tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with daily living tasks: dressing, bathing, feeding, toileting
• Vital signs monitoring
• Catheter care
• Answering call lights
• Assisting with ambulation and turning
• Ensuring patient safety
• Obtaining 12 lead EKG
• Setting up respiratory equipment
• Glucometer monitoring
• Bladder catheterization
• Transcribing orders, when indicated

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Excellent bedside manner and customer service skills
• Computer skills
• Successful completion of applicable clearances as outlined in Human Resources policy HR-106 within 90 days of commencing employment

Preferred qualifications

• Successful completion of a nursing assistant program (with proof of completion)
• Nursing student after successful completion of their first quarter/semester of nursing school
• Previous nursing assistant experience
• CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant)
• BCLS certification

Pay & schedule

• Sign-on/retention bonus totaling $3,000 for full-time
• Full-Time 72hrs, Days/Nights, 12hr shifts
• Rotating weekends and holidays
