Job Description
Provide continuous, one-on-one observation and monitoring of assigned patients.
Maintain a safe environment for self, patients and others.
Remain alert and attentive at all times to ensure the safety and well-being of the patient.
- Provide direct patient care such as vital signs and transporting patients to other departments as delegated by and under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
- Stock linens and supplies.
- Document observations, interventions, and any pertinent information accurately and in a timely manner within EPIC.
- Prioritize and execute tasks for the assigned patients in a timely and efficient manner.
- Alert nursing staff promptly to any signs of distress, discomfort, or changes in the patient's condition.
- Maintain a calm and professional presence for the patient and their family members.
- Follow all hospital or facility protocols and procedures related to patient observation and safety.
Other Information
- Technical Expertise: Knowledge of and experience in medical terminology preferred. Experience working in healthcare environment is preferred. Experience working with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word) or similar software is required. Experience working in an electronic medical record (i.e. EPIC) or similar software is preferred.
- Education And Experience: Education: High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) training from the American Heart Association is required. Years of relevant experience: Minimum one (1) year of experience is preferred. Years of supervisory experience: None.
