What You Will Do in This Role

As a member of the team, you will:

  • Perform 15-minute checks, monitor for contraband, evaluate for changes in condition, and provide line of sight or one-on-one care as directed
  • Adhere to tasks delegated by the Registered Nurse (RN) related to patient care, such as vital signs, specimen collection, documentation, group education, and patient monitoring
  • Demonstrate effective milieu management skills to enhance positive patient experiences
  • Accompany patients to off-unit activities like meals, breaks, off-unit visits, and out-of-building activities and appointments
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • A high school degree is preferred
  • Previous experience in a psychiatric health care facility, with direct experience working with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric, and geriatric patients is required
  • Requires a valid driver’s license and a favorable Motor Vehicle Report (MVR), along with proof of insurance when using personal or hospital-owned vehicles
  • CPR certification and Crisis Prevention Training (CPI) must be obtained within 30 days of employment and before any patient contact
  • Must be at least 21 years old
