About the role
Cottonwood Springs, part of Lifepoint Behavioral Health, is seeking passionate, patient-centric, and goal-oriented team members to join our compassionate behavioral health services team. We specialize in crisis stabilization, inpatient care, and outpatient treatment for acute mental health and substance use treatment.
Responsibilities
- Support the therapeutic milieu under the direction of the RN.
- Safeguard the dignity and respect of our patients and guests.
- Provide continuous patient care, supervision, interaction, and role modeling to patients.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- High School diploma or degree from an accredited college or university in social work, recreational therapy or appropriate therapeutic field preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year work experience in a psychiatric healthcare facility, with direct experience working with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric and geriatric patients preferred.
- Driver’s License with a favorable Motor Vehicle Report.
- Proof of Insurance.
- CPR and CPI Certification within 30 days of employment.
- Experience working in an inpatient psychiatric or healthcare facility preferred.
- Previous direct patient care experience with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric and geriatric patients preferred.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred degree in social work, recreational therapy, or a related therapeutic field.
- At least 1 year of work experience in a psychiatric healthcare setting.
- Direct experience working with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric, and geriatric patients.
- Valid driver’s license with a favorable motor vehicle report.
- CPR and CPI certification.
- Experience in an inpatient psychiatric or healthcare facility.
- Previous direct patient care experience with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric, and geriatric patients.
Skills
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of psychosocial models of care.
- Experience with crisis stabilization and inpatient care.
- Understanding of substance use treatment and mental health disorders.
