About the role

Cottonwood Springs, part of Lifepoint Behavioral Health, is seeking passionate, patient-centric, and goal-oriented team members to join our compassionate behavioral health services team. We specialize in crisis stabilization, inpatient care, and outpatient treatment for acute mental health and substance use treatment.

Responsibilities

  • Support the therapeutic milieu under the direction of the RN.
  • Safeguard the dignity and respect of our patients and guests.
  • Provide continuous patient care, supervision, interaction, and role modeling to patients.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • High School diploma or degree from an accredited college or university in social work, recreational therapy or appropriate therapeutic field preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year work experience in a psychiatric healthcare facility, with direct experience working with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric and geriatric patients preferred.
  • Driver’s License with a favorable Motor Vehicle Report.
  • Proof of Insurance.
  • CPR and CPI Certification within 30 days of employment.
  • Experience working in an inpatient psychiatric or healthcare facility preferred.
  • Previous direct patient care experience with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric and geriatric patients preferred.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred degree in social work, recreational therapy, or a related therapeutic field.
  • At least 1 year of work experience in a psychiatric healthcare setting.
  • Direct experience working with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric, and geriatric patients.
  • Valid driver’s license with a favorable motor vehicle report.
  • CPR and CPI certification.
  • Experience in an inpatient psychiatric or healthcare facility.
  • Previous direct patient care experience with chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, psychiatric, and geriatric patients.

Skills

  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of psychosocial models of care.
  • Experience with crisis stabilization and inpatient care.
  • Understanding of substance use treatment and mental health disorders.
