As a Patient Care Assistant (PCA), you will work under the assessment and supervision of a Registered Nurse, performing patient care activities to assist healthcare providers with various technical and clinical procedures.

Responsibilities

• Lift, transfer, and transport patients safely to inpatient beds and ancillary departments.
• Collect, perform, and document urine and glucometer tests, including associated quality controls.
• Collect, label, and enter specimens obtained.
• Perform one-to-one monitoring for restrained, suicidal, combative, and other high-risk patients as requested by an RN or physician.
• Obtain vital signs and weights.
• Document appropriately in the electronic medical record.
• Enter work orders in the computer.
• Stock supplies at the bedside.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED (minimum requirement).
• Ability to read, write, and follow verbal or written instructions.
• Maintain CPR certification.
• STNA, NA, or MA licensure preferred.
• Proficiency in electronic medical record documentation.
• Ability to work independently and professionally.
• Proficiency in 12-lead ECG testing.

LMH is accredited by DNV and TJC, which may require specific annual education related to specialty certifications and standards.
