As a Patient Care Assistant (PCA), you will work under the assessment and supervision of a Registered Nurse, performing patient care activities to assist healthcare providers with various technical and clinical procedures.

Responsibilities
- Lift, transfer, and transport patients safely to inpatient beds and ancillary departments.
- Collect, perform, and document urine and glucometer tests, including associated quality controls.
- Collect, label, and enter specimens obtained.
- Perform one-to-one monitoring for restrained, suicidal, combative, and other high-risk patients as requested by an RN or physician.
- Obtain vital signs and weights.
- Document appropriately in the electronic medical record.
- Enter work orders in the computer.
- Stock supplies at the bedside.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED (minimum requirement).
- Ability to read, write, and follow verbal or written instructions.
- Maintain CPR certification.
- STNA, NA, or MA licensure preferred.
- Proficiency in electronic medical record documentation.
- Ability to work independently and professionally.
- Proficiency in 12-lead ECG testing.
LMH is accredited by DNV and TJC, which may require specific annual education related to specialty certifications and standards.
