Patient Care Assistant - PCA

About the role

Visiting Angels in Paris provides compassionate in‑home care for seniors across Sulphur Springs, Paris, Mt Pleasant, Clarksville, Cooper, Talco, and surrounding areas. As a Patient Care Assistant (PCA) you will serve as a companion and support person, helping seniors with daily activities, light housekeeping, meal preparation, mobility assistance, and transportation. The position offers opportunities for personal growth, including advanced training in dementia and Alzheimer’s care.

Responsibilities

• Help clients take prescribed medication.
• Assist clients with ambulation and mobility around the house or outside (doctor’s appointments, walks, etc.).
• Provide personal care and hygiene assistance.
• Support clients with routine exercises.
• Plan and prepare meals, respecting dietary constraints and client abilities.
• Do the client’s shopping or accompany them when they shop.
• Perform light housekeeping duties that clients cannot complete on their own.
• Be a pleasant and supportive companion.
• Report any unusual incidents.
• Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency.

Requirements

• Passion to serve others – a true caregiver.
• Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid.
• Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking with attention to dietary constraints.
