Duties & Responsibilities Patient Care Assistants (PCA)s provide a beneficial service to people who previously cared for themselves and handled basic life functions on their own but now rely on someone else to help them. Typical job duties and tasks of a PCA include: Provides for activities of daily living by assisting with serving meals, feeding guest as necessary; ambulating, turning, and positioning, providing fresh water and nourishment between meals.Maintains guest stability by checking vital signs; recording intake and output information.Provides guest comfort by utilizing resources and materials; transporting; answering call lights and requests; reporting observations of the guest to nursing supervisor. Qualifications High school diploma or GEDGood listening skillsExcellent customer service, energized individual with compassion for assisting othersWilling to improve their standing by obtaining the Nurse Assistant certification (C.N.A.).
