Patient Care Assistant- Oncology- Part Time - Evenings

About the role

The Patient Care Assistant (PCA) I supports patient care by ensuring comfort and safety, following the model of care at TCH, which emphasizes collaboration between patients, families, and healthcare teams. Care is culturally sensitive and age-appropriate, and all duties are delegated by a Registered Nurse according to Ohio Board of Nursing guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical tasks assigned by the RN, adhering to Ohio Board of Nursing delegation guidelines
• Maintain patient confidentiality
• Demonstrate key behavioral competencies such as effective communication, adaptability, teamwork, and personal accountability
• Ensure patient and unit safety
• Provide patient comfort and hygiene, documenting according to policy
• Orient patients and families to the hospital environment and facilitate communication throughout the hospitalization process

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma required
• Experience: 0–1 years of experience required
• Licenses & Certifications: AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers required
