Patient Care Assistant - Medical/Surgical Nursing Float Pool - Nights

About the Role

This position involves providing basic supportive care to patients and families under supervision, primarily during night shifts. It requires collecting, documenting, and reporting vital signs and assisting with procedures to promote patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient positioning and procedures
• Ensure confidentiality and maintain professionalism
• Support environmental cleanliness and stock supplies
• Perform clerical tasks
• Participate in ongoing education
• Train and mentor staff as needed

Requirements

• Completion of an approved nursing fundamentals course or equivalent experience/licensure
• Active State Tested Nurse Aide License or equivalent
• Current CPR certification (BLS)
• Effective communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
• At least one year of recent hospital patient care experience or equivalent

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 100 lbs with assistance
• Perform repetitive tasks
• Stand, walk, and respond to physical demands associated with patient care
