Responsibilities

• Adheres to workflows and patient care tasks outlined by training and orientation.
• Accepts delegation from nurses to provide care in alignment with scope of practice.
• Counsels and supports patients and visitors, addressing both physical and emotional needs.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including patient hygiene, pressure injury prevention, and safe mobility.
• Transports patient specimens safely and accurately, documenting in the Medical Record.
• Contributes to the admission, transfer, and discharge processes.
• Maintains professional responsibilities related to education, training, and accountability to department communication methods.
• May be oriented to unit secretarial duties, including responding to incoming calls and supporting interdepartmental and interprofessional communications.
• Purposeful rounding in alignment with Policy, educating patients on call light use, and being committed to call light responsiveness.
• Specific to Women’s and Children’s: responsibilities related to registration, certification, patient admission, insurance authorization process, electronic birth records, paternity testing, and recording fetal death.
• Other duties as assigned by department leadership.

• BASIC LIFE SUPPORT (BLS)
• Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA)

• High School Diploma/GED

• Minimum Education Required: High School Equivalency Diploma.
• Experience: 0 Years of Experience Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association (AHA).
• Licensed Nurse Assistant (LNA).
