About the Role
The Patient Care Assistant I provides clinical and front office support in a primary care setting, assisting with patient interactions, documentation, and basic clinical tasks.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients professionally and manage registration, scheduling, and communication between patients and providers.
- Document patient information, test results, and care activities accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Assist with patient care activities, including obtaining vital signs, collecting patient history, and performing point-of-care testing under supervision.
- Participate in ongoing education, training, and competency validation to support clinical readiness.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant clinical environment.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required; healthcare-related program enrollment or recent completion preferred.
- Prior customer service or healthcare experience is advantageous.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Medical Assistant certification must be obtained within one year.
- Strong communication, organizational skills, and adherence to clinical standards are essential.
