Patient Care Assistant (Full-Time)

About the role

The Patient Care Assistant provides essential support in a healthcare setting, primarily assisting with patient intake, data recording, routine tests, and patient education on reproductive health, birth control, and STIs. They support clinical staff by preparing exam rooms, handling specimens, and assisting with procedures, including surgical abortion areas. Other duties include clerical tasks such as chart management, inventory, and communication with patients.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient intake and data recording
• Perform routine tests and provide patient education on reproductive health, birth control, and STIs
• Prepare exam rooms and handle specimens
• Assist clinical staff with procedures, including in surgical abortion areas
• Manage charts, inventory, and patient communications

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• 1-2 years of healthcare experience
• CNA or Medical Assistant certification preferred
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Adaptability in fast-paced environments
• Basic computer proficiency
• Reliable transportation

Physical requirements

• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
• Mobility to perform essential job functions

Work environment

Standard health center environment with some travel between sites. May include evenings or weekends.

Pay

$19.18 to $22.30 per hour
