Patient Care Assistant

About the role

The Patient Care Assistant works under the direction of a Registered Nurse to assist in the delivery of patient care including personal hygiene and daily activities, transporting patients and equipment, setting up and maintaining patient rooms, and reordering/stocking of supplies.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the delivery of patient care including personal hygiene and daily activities
• Transports patients and equipment
• Sets up and maintains patient rooms
• Reorders and stocks supplies
• Coordinates communications and procedures for the nursing unit
• Processes electronic orders
• Assembles patient’s charts and other necessities

Requirements

• Must have one of the following: High school diploma or equivalent, HS Diploma in progress, and Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry
• Equivalent work experience in lieu of HS diploma or equivalent may be considered
• Valid BLS from American Heart Association or Red Cross

Preferred Qualifications

• CNA experience
• HUC or unit clerk experience
• Microsoft office experience
• Prior experience in acute care or hospital setting
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) on the Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry
