About the Role

The Patient Care Assistant (PCA) functions as an assistant to the Registered Nurse, performing routine procedures under supervision. The PCA provides nursing support to achieve excellent patient care, committed to patient advocacy and innovative care in a climate of trust and collaboration.

Qualifications

  • Licensed EMT or Paramedic
  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) with high school diploma or equivalent and one (1) year of patient care experience in a clinical setting (preferred)
  • Nursing student currently enrolled in an approved program for professional or licensed practical nurses, upon successful completion of nursing fundamental coursework
  • Current employees who have completed an approved nursing program and are awaiting NCLEX authorization to test (up to 90 days post-graduation)
  • Current employees who have completed an approved nursing program and have been unsuccessful in passing the NCLEX examination (up to 6 months post initial authorization to test)
  • Junior and Senior High School Students attending a state-approved CNA training program, with CNA certification and instructor recommendation

Licensure/Certification

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required for those not currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a nursing program.

Additional Information

Part-time, 24 hours/week with a variable schedule. Employees in this position will not operate vehicles for assigned business purposes.
