While no two client visits look exactly alike, responsibilities may include: Helping clients handle personal care and hygieneManaging light housekeepingEncouraging clients to meet their exercise and fitness goalsPrompting clients to take their prescription medications at the right timesHelping clients with shopping and putting away groceries (or shopping for them)Planning and preparing meals in collaboration with clients (based on client ability)Assisting clients with mobility and ambulation - this can include everything from getting around the house to visiting the doctor and taking walks A Patient Care Aide - PCA must also be prepared to act quickly in the case of medical emergencies. Patient Care Aide - PCA Job Requirements Must be 18 years old and able to work legally in the USFully vaccinated and boosted against COVID-19 with shot recordPossess a high school diploma or equivalentPosses a Valid Drivers License, Car Insurance, and a Reliable Personal Vehicle to use to transport clientsStrong communication and interpersonal skills are a mustHave excellent time-management skills and can juggle multiple duties at onceReliable transportation to get to and from client homes at the times you're scheduled to provide careFeel confident in your physical endurance when it comes to things like carrying groceries and physically supporting a clientFeel comfortable performing housekeeping and cooking duties while adhering to applicable dietary constraintsAre willing and able to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards (ex., background check)Bring compassion, understanding, and a desire to brighten the day of each client to the tableMust be able to use a smartphone for electronic visit verification (EVV) and caregiver notesAbility to pass extensive background checks, including Live Scan fingerprintingHave a negative TB screening within the last 90 daysRegistered on the California Home Care Aide Registry Shifts Offered Full TimePart Time8 Hour Shifts10 Hour Shifts
