Patient Care Aide - PCA

About the role

Visiting Angels of Kansas City is hiring a Patient Care Aide (PCA) to support elderly and home-care clients throughout the Kansas City Metro area, including locations such as Kansas City (Kansas and Missouri), Overland Park, Olathe, Leawood, and Shawnee. This role helps clients maintain dignity while staying or recovering at home.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene
• Manage light housekeeping tasks
• Encourage clients to meet exercise and fitness goals
• Prompt clients to take prescription medications at the correct times
• Assist with shopping, putting away groceries, or shopping on behalf of clients
• Plan and prepare meals in collaboration with clients, based on their abilities
• Support clients with mobility and ambulation, including doctor visits and walks
• Act quickly in medical emergencies and report health changes or unusual circumstances

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Excellent time-management skills
• Reliable transportation to client visits
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Familiarity with basic housekeeping and cooking tasks
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
• Training or knowledge in First Aid and emergency response
• A compassionate heart for vulnerable individuals seeking meaningful companionship
• Willingness to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards
