Patient Care Aide - PCA

About the role

Visiting Angels of Humble is hiring a Patient Care Aide - PCA to support clients throughout the local area, including Kingwood, Atascocita, Huffman, Dayton, Cleveland, and many others. The role offers flexibility, growth opportunities, and the chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of senior adults in the community.

Responsibilities

• Assisting clients with personal care and hygiene
• Performing light housekeeping tasks
• Encouraging clients to meet exercise and fitness goals
• Prompting clients to take prescription medications on schedule
• Assisting with grocery shopping and putting away groceries
• Planning and preparing meals in collaboration with clients (based on client ability)
• Assisting clients with mobility and ambulation, including getting around the house, attending doctor visits, and taking walks
• Acting quickly in medical emergencies and reporting any health changes or unusual circumstances

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Excellent time-management skills
• Reliable transportation to client visits
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Familiarity with basic housekeeping and cooking tasks
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
• Training or knowledge in First Aid and emergency response
• Compassion for vulnerable individuals and a desire for meaningful companionship
• Willingness to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards
