Patient Care Aide - PCA

Visiting Angels of Fayetteville is hiring a Patient Care Aide to support senior adults throughout the local area, including Raeford, Silver City, Rockfish, Fayetteville, Dundarrach, Sanford, and surrounding communities. Caregivers help clients stay at home or recover at home with dignity, providing personalized assistance tailored to each client's needs.

Responsibilities

• Helping clients handle personal care and hygiene
• Managing light housekeeping
• Encouraging clients to meet their exercise and fitness goals
• Prompting clients to take prescription medications at the right times
• Helping clients with shopping and putting away groceries (or shopping for them)
• Planning and preparing meals in collaboration with clients (based on client ability)
• Assisting clients with mobility and ambulation — from getting around the house to visiting the doctor and taking walks
• Acting quickly in medical emergencies and adequately reporting any health changes or unusual circumstances

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Excellent time-management skills
• Reliable transportation to client visits
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Familiarity with basic housekeeping and cooking tasks
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
• Training/knowledge in First Aid and emergency response
• A heart for vulnerable people seeking meaningful companionship
• Willingness to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards
