Patient Care Aide - PCA

About the role

Visiting Angels of Boise is hiring a Patient Care Aide (PCA) to support elderly and home-care clients in staying at home or recovering with dignity. This role serves clients throughout the local area, including Caldwell, Nampa, Meridian, and surrounding communities.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene
• Manage light housekeeping tasks
• Encourage clients to meet exercise and fitness goals
• Prompt clients to take prescription medications on schedule
• Assist with shopping, grocery management, and meal preparation based on client ability
• Support clients with mobility and ambulation, including doctor visits and walks
• Act quickly in medical emergencies and report health changes or unusual circumstances

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Excellent time-management skills
• Reliable transportation to client visits
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Familiarity with basic housekeeping and cooking tasks
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
• Training or knowledge in First Aid and emergency response
• Compassion for vulnerable individuals and a desire for meaningful companionship
• Willingness to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards

Schedule

• Full-time and part-time positions available
• 8-hour, 10-hour, and 12-hour shifts
• PRN and short shifts
• Flexible shift options, including days and weekends
