Patient Care Aide - PCA

About the role

Visiting Angels of Baytown is hiring a Patient Care Aide – PCA to support elderly and home-care clients throughout the local area, including Liberty, Raywood, Dayton, Moss Bluff, Stilson, and surrounding communities.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with personal care and hygiene
• Perform light housekeeping tasks
• Encourage clients to meet exercise and fitness goals
• Prompt clients to take prescription medications on schedule
• Help clients with grocery shopping and putting away groceries
• Plan and prepare meals in collaboration with clients based on their abilities
• Assist clients with mobility and ambulation, including getting around the house, attending medical appointments, and taking walks
• Act quickly and appropriately in medical emergencies, reporting any health changes or unusual circumstances

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Excellent time-management skills
• Reliable transportation to client visits
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Familiarity with basic housekeeping and cooking tasks
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
• Training or knowledge in First Aid and emergency response
• Compassion for vulnerable individuals seeking meaningful companionship
• Willingness to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards
