Patient Benefits Supervisor

Onco360 Pharmacy is seeking a Patient Benefits Supervisor in Scottsdale, AZ. This role is based in Louisville, KY with flexible hours from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM (Arizona) in spring/summer, transitioning to 9:30 AM - 6 PM in fall/winter, and some weekends as needed.

• Responsibilities:
• Oversee activities related to the proper loading and investigation of patient prescription benefits, including patient demographics, medical and pharmacy coverage, and authorization requirements.
• Provide quality control by examining cases completed by team members.
• Supervise and lead a team of Benefit Verification (BV) and Onboarding staff to maintain a positive working environment.
• Communicate effectively with pharmacy and corporate teams, and resolve issues with patients.
• Assist in managing day-to-day pharmacy operations and implementing new procedures.
• Evaluate, coach, and utilize performance management practices for BV staff.
• Manage and report on daily activity of vertical team members, including monitoring workflow and Pulse reporting.
• Manage patient authorizations, including Threshold Override Authorizations (TOA), SNF Letters of Agreement (LOA), and similar tasks.
• Monitor and escalate No-Go trends or contract-related claim rejections to the Patient Benefits Manager.
• Communicate payor benefit programs and policies to the BV/Onboarding team and provide support for system functionality questions.
• Handle difficult BV cases/questions and ensure accurate and timely completion.
• Work with the Pharmacy Technician Manager and/or Director of Pharmacy Operations on other responsibilities, projects, and initiatives.

Qualifications

• Education/Learning Experience:
  - High School Diploma or GED.
• Previous Experience:
  - 4+ years pharmacy or benefit verification experience, preferred 5+ years.
• Work Experience:
  - Previous leadership experience preferred.
• Skills/Knowledge:
  - Pharmacy insurance and benefit verification, PBM and Medical contracts, knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance, pharmacy test claim and NCPDP claim rejection resolution, coordination of benefits, NDC medication billing, excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work with all levels of management and staff, vast knowledge of pharmacy terminology and process including sig codes, and roman numerals, brand/generic names of medication, advanced typing, math and analytical skills, leadership skills.
• Licenses/Certifications:
  - Registration with Board of Pharmacy as required by state law, desired Certified Pharmacy Technician (PTCB), Advanced Certified Pharmacy Technician with completion of Billing and Reimbursement certification.

Salary starting at $64k and up depending on experience, with a sign-on bonus of $5,000 for employees starting before August 31, 2026.
