Patient Account Representative - Self Pay Team

Training for this role will be Monday-Friday onsite at our client office in Birmingham, Alabama. After training, schedules will adjust. Candidate will preferably live within 50 miles of our client office.

Responsibilities

• Review each patient account to determine whether there are any corrective opportunities present before bad debt.
• Review bankruptcy notices to determine whether the patient has accounts to file to the courts. This process may require confirming applicable insurance coverage or contacting the patient for further information.
• Take appropriate corrective action and note the account if corrective action is required.
• Perform physician billing and/or hospital patient account review.
• Use IDX and HealthQuest software daily.
• Work independently with a variety of duties with minimal supervision.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED OR 2 years of relevant experience in lieu of the education.
• 0-2 years of prior relevant experience in healthcare, health insurance, or finance.
• Some working knowledge of health insurance or bankruptcy/finance.

Qualifications

• IDX Software experience.
• EPIC Software experience.
• STAR Software experience.
• HealthQuest Software experience or similar billing system.
• Healthcare billing—Physician Billing.
• Exhibit flexibility and cope effectively in an ever-changing, fast-paced environment.
