Patient Account Representative

This position is hybrid, based out of our Mitchell, SD office. Individuals must be able to work an eight-hour shift between the hours of 7:00 AM CT - 5:00 PM CT.

Responsibilities

  • Receive incoming calls and make outbound calls for account resolution and soft collections
  • Review accounts and interpret Explanation of Benefits (EOB)
  • Assist patients with policy statuses and insurance verifications
  • Provide customer service and update account information
  • Complete all business-related requests and correspondence from patients
  • Finish assigned projects in a timely manner
  • Assist clients and patients with all requested tasks
  • Communicate areas of concern or improvement to Guidehouse management
  • Research and respond to patient inquiries received by telephone and mail
  • Update patient demographic information and initiate account adjustments
  • Perform any and all job-related duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 0-2+ years of experience in insurance, business, finance, or customer service
  • Working knowledge in healthcare, insurance claims, billing, finance, accounting, or customer service-related responsibilities

Qualifications

  • PC skills in a Windows environment, specifically knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Familiarity with Electronic Health Record Systems (e.g., eCW Systems)
  • 1+ year of experience in a healthcare or customer service setting
  • Ability to initiate and follow through on projects with minimal supervision
