About the role

Reporting to the Patient Accounts Team Lead, the Patient Account Representative resolves inbound patient inquiries related to billing in a multi-channel contact center environment.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor multi-channel inbound patient billing inquiries to ensure timely response and accurate resolutions.
  • Work with patients and insurance carriers to resolve patient billing inquiries.
  • Maintain individual and departmental goals including Average Handle Time, Service Level, Abandonment Rate, and Call Quality.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all patient information with a full understanding of HIPAA requirements.
  • Demonstrate flexibility to meet the needs of all internal and external customers, including changes to workflows, work volume, and work schedules.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years in a healthcare environment required, preferably in billing, front office administration, or call center.
  • Ability to read and understand insurance EOBs.
  • Strong conflict resolution skills and the ability to multi-task while maintaining high-quality patient interactions.
  • High School diploma or GED required.

Working Conditions

  • Standard office environment with occasional travel to corporate or office locations.
  • Potential exposure to stressful situations and emergency scenarios.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit for 3-4 hours at a time.
  • Fine finger coordination required for typing.
  • Ability to speak clearly with team members so others can understand.
  • Ability to hear and understand others when speaking.
  • Ability to view computer screen monitor and small objects a few feet away.

Pay

Estimated hourly pay range: $20.00–$22.00.
