Patient Account Representative Assistant

Description

This position is responsible for supporting our Patient Account Representatives in resolving outstanding accounts and providing excellent customer service to our patients. Some knowledge of medical insurance billing processes is preferred. Qualified candidates will have solid organizational abilities and strong customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Filing claims to primary and secondary payers
• Contacting insurance companies to verify medical insurance coverage
• Responding to patient and insurance inquiries
• Researching and resolving outstanding accounts
• Posting incoming insurance mail to patient accounts
• Answering incoming customer service calls
• Communicating professionally with patients, insurance companies, and facility personnel

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required
• Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred, along with one year of previous office experience
• Candidates must have at least two years of prior data entry experience and be comfortable using program applications, including Windows
• Experience with Epic and proficiency in Excel are preferred
