About the role
The Patient Financial Services Department at UW Medicine is seeking a Patient Account Representative 2 to join their team. This position is responsible for editing and preparing billing forms, analyzing accounts, and maintaining patient records.
Responsibilities
- Edit and prepare UB, CMS 1500, ADA and other billing forms according to regulatory and payer requirements
- Analyze and resolve payer denials for unresolved accounts
- Determine patients' payment capabilities and eligibility for financial assistance
- Analyze credit balance accounts and take appropriate actions
- Make Accounts Receivable adjustments and update patient information in systems
- Review patient account statuses and determine resolution courses of action
- Manage bankrupt or deceased patient accounts
- Create spreadsheets and write correspondence using Microsoft Excel and Word
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Two years of experience in patient accounting, customer service, or a related office environment
Desired Knowledge
- UB, CMS 1500, ADA and other billing forms and payer requirements
- Epic Hospital Billing and/or Professional Billing, and registration systems
