About the role

The Patient Account Registrar at Saint Clare's Health is responsible for interviewing patients or their representatives to obtain necessary demographic information, securing insurance information, eligibility, benefits, and authorizations. This position works closely with all aspects of the Admitting department, including the PBX operator function and reception areas.

Responsibilities

  • Interviews patients or their representatives to obtain patient demographics.
  • Secures insurance information, eligibility, benefits, and authorizations as applicable.
  • Works closely with all facets of the Admitting department, including PBX operator function and reception areas.
  • Operates a computer to input and retrieve data.
  • Communicates with the population served using age-specific techniques from neonatal to geriatrics.
  • Maintains proficiency in medical terminology.
  • Performs special projects or other assignments as assigned.

Requirements

  • Previous hospital experience as an admissions representative preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize needs to meet required timelines.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Customer Service experience required.

Qualifications

  • High School Graduate or GED Equivalent Required (effective 4/1/14 for all new hires).

Pay

A reasonable compensation estimate for this role, which includes estimated wages, benefits, and other forms of compensation, is $16.10/Hr. to $21.72/Hr. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire, in which a wide range of factors will be considered, including but not limited to, skillset, years of applicable experience, education, credentials and licensure.
