About the Hospital

East Liverpool City Hospital is an award-winning community hospital proudly serving residents of the tristate region since 1905. With 152 licensed beds and more than 500 employees, the hospital averages 31,000 Emergency Department visits annually. The medical staff includes over 160 physicians and 21 resident physicians completing training in Family Medicine and Internal Medicine. Services include 24/7 emergency care, general surgery, medical stabilization for substance abuse, behavioral health for adults over 55, and the only cardiac rehabilitation program in Columbiana County.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients or their representatives to obtain patient demographics.
• Secure insurance information, eligibility, benefits, and authorizations as applicable.
• Collaborate with all facets of the Admitting department, including PBX operator functions and reception areas.
• Operate a computer to input and retrieve data.
• Communicate effectively with diverse populations, utilizing age-specific techniques from neonatal to geriatric care.
• Maintain proficiency in medical terminology.
• Complete special projects or other assignments within specified timeframes.

Requirements

• Previous hospital experience as an admissions representative preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize needs, and meet required timelines.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Customer service experience required.
• High School Graduate or GED equivalent (required for all new hires effective 4/1/14).

Full Time, variable shift.
