About the Role
This is an exempt, full-time position located in Newton on the 1st shift. The role is not eligible for overtime.
Responsibilities
- Provide advice, guidance, and leadership to RHM & Region leaders in developing strategies and achieving performance goals.
- Enable collaboration across and within the service area, RHM, and Regions to ensure consistency and integration of strategy and operations.
- Lead standardization, systemness, and optimization of policy, process, and methodology, establishing a national community of practice.
- Oversee Vendor/Contract Labor Management, including centralizing strategy and optimizing spend.
- Collaborate in system-wide strategy development and deployment of functional area priorities and initiatives.
- Support regional efforts to comply with functional area priorities and ensure accountability for leadership teams.
- Serve as the organization-wide focal point for establishing functional strategies and governance over financials and staffing.
- Ensure effective communication between service area functional area, RHM, and Region leaders.
- Measure and report KPIs/metrics and value delivery.
- Provide leadership for the colleague life cycle.
- Maintain working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws, Trinity Health Integrity & Compliance Program, Code of Conduct, and other policies to ensure adherence.
- Maintain and demonstrate knowledge to successfully supervise functional areas of the hospital, including outpatient registration, emergency room registration, admissions, bed assignment, and financial counseling.
- Monitor the patient tracking system, registration reports, and financial clearance activities to ensure compliance with key performance standards.
- Oversee financial clearance activity to verify accounts at time of service and meet medical necessity requirements.
- Coordinate investigation and resolution of patient/family or staff complaints.
- Resolve patient questions regarding payment requirements or charges referred by registrars.
- Provide operational guidance and support to the assigned team, disseminate policy/procedure updates, and support coverage of other departmental divisions as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Three to five years of leadership experience within Patient Access.
- Five years of relevant experience in functional areas of Patient Access such as Registration, Insurance Verification/Financial Clearance, Financial Counseling, or other relevant experience.
- Obtain national certification in HFMA CHFP, CRCR, or NAHAM CHAM within one year of hire.
