Patient Access Specialist ED - FT; 7:00 P.M.- 7:00 A.M. (7 ON/ 7 OFF)

Responsibilities

• Obtains demographic, billing information
• Contact third party payers for pre-certification as needed
• Escorts and transports patients to assigned nursing units
• Strive for customer satisfaction and meet patient needs
• Inform patients about hospital payment requirements
• Receive and record notifications of patients being admitted from various sources
• Provide coverage for other departmental duties such as Bed Control, Discharge, and any other tasks assigned by supervisors

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous business office experience in a healthcare setting preferred
• Ability to interact with diverse populations including children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients
• Interpret medical and anatomical terminology
