About the Role

Responsible for performing all registration and pre-registration functions at Patient Access intake points, primarily in the Emergency Room. This role involves communicating with patients, families, physicians, and insurance companies to gather necessary information, verify insurance through electronic systems, and ensure the collection of co-pays and deductibles where applicable. You will interview and register patients while providing additional registration support as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform registration and pre-registration functions at all Patient Access intake points.
• Communicate with patients, families, physicians, and insurance companies to obtain and verify information.
• Use electronic verification systems to confirm insurance details.
• Collect co-pays and deductibles when applicable.
• Interview and register patients accurately and efficiently.
• Provide additional registration support as required.

Requirements

• High school graduation or equivalent.
• Strong medical terminology skills.
• One year of related healthcare experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Working knowledge and ability to use relevant equipment and hospital registration systems.
