Patient Access Scheduling Representative (Outpatient), Kaneohe Primary Care, Full-time, Day Shift

About the role

Located in Kailua (with operations also in Kaneohe, HI), Adventist Health Castle is a 160‑bed hospital with eight medical offices, home care, urgent care and a wide range of services across O’ahu. The position facilitates patient medical and financial clearance using medical and healthcare knowledge, clinical judgment, and communication skills to resolve patient access, service authorization, and coordination of scheduled programs.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and schedules patient care for all wellness programs.
• Facilitates communication between patient scheduling staff and user departments, physicians, physician office staff, and patient clients.
• Answers telephone inquiries regarding physician referrals and covers front desk duties when needed.
• Maintains patient scheduling database.
• Collaborates with patient financial services (PFS) to obtain appropriate authorizations per PFS policy and procedure.
• Submits documentation for retro‑authorization as appropriate and files appeals for denial of services.
• Develops monthly Wellness newsletter, updates website, and creates promotional flyers.
• Actively participates in training.
• Performs other duties as assigned by department leadership.

Requirements

• High School Education/GED or equivalent – preferred.
• Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience – preferred.
• Two years’ healthcare experience – preferred.
• Must receive all required vaccinations as a condition of employment (medical and religious exemptions may apply).
• Participation in E‑Verify is required.

Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package; a comprehensive benefits program is available for qualifying positions.

Pay

The estimated base pay for this position is $21.38 to $27.90 per hour. Additional individual compensation may be available through differentials, extra shift incentives, bonuses, etc.

Schedule

Full‑time position with day shift; shift length is 8 hours.
