About the Role
The incumbent will be responsible for scheduling patient appointments (diagnostic, surgical, therapy, physician office visits, and other procedures/treatments) in a call center environment. This role requires meeting individual quality metrics while providing professional, compassionate, and friendly service to patients of all ages, families, employees, physicians, and community members.
Responsibilities
- Schedule patient appointments for diagnostic, surgical, therapy, physician office visits, and other procedures/treatments.
- Obtain and verify necessary demographic and insurance information.
- Register patients and enter data into the scheduling system.
- Adhere to Baptist Health’s philosophy of service excellence.
Requirements
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent training/experience.
- Complete and pass the Patient Access training course.
- Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced work environment.
- Basic mathematical calculation skills.
- Detail-oriented, organized, team player with excellent customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
- Compassionate demeanor.
Qualifications
- Desired: Basic knowledge of medical and insurance terminology.
- Desired: Experience with computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, EMR applications) and accurate typing skills.
- Desired: Knowledge of regulatory guidelines (HIPAA, AHCA, EMTALA, Medicare coverage structure, including medical necessity compliance guidelines).
- Bilingual (English/Spanish or English/Creole) preferred.
- Minimum required experience: Less than 1 year.

Pay
Estimated pay range for this position is $17.27 - $21.93 per hour, depending on experience.
