Patient Access Representative Sr
As our Patient Access Representative Sr, you will play a pivotal role in the revenue cycle by managing complex registration workflows and ensuring operational excellence within our hospital access areas. You will serve as a key resource for your team, providing expert guidance on insurance verification, benefits review, and patient financial responsibility. By collaborating with clinical departments and revenue cycle partners, you will help resolve complex access issues, reduce delays in care, and uphold our commitment to high-quality, relationship-based patient experiences.
Responsibilities
- Perform patient registration and admitting functions across key access points, including the Emergency Department and main registration.
- Utilize multiple healthcare systems to accurately document encounters, verify insurance coverage, and communicate financial estimates to patients.
- Manage moderately complex registration scenarios, including insurance verification, benefits review, and clear communication of patient financial responsibilities, coverage limitations, and collection of payments at the time of service.
- Support team efficiency by flexing across access points during high-volume or high-acuity periods, assisting team members with problem-solving, and ensuring all regulatory and privacy compliance standards are met.
- Collaborate with clinical and revenue cycle teams to resolve discrepancies and act as an informal resource to less experienced staff.
- Maintain strict compliance with organizational policies, privacy standards, and regulatory requirements while upholding the highest ethical and professional standards in all interactions.
Requirements
- High School Graduate or GED upon hire.
- 1-3 years of experience in patient access, healthcare registration, or a related healthcare administrative role.
- Experience with insurance verification, benefits review, and/or registration workflows.
