Responsibilities

  • Collect correct upfront information to ensure proper care for the patient.
  • Billing and collection of payment.
  • Register in all ancillary areas of the Patient Access Department.
  • Coordinate with all departments of the facility.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum Experience: At least six (6) months of customer service experience required.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to obtain and record information accurately required.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities required.
  • Proficient computer skills including but not limited to data entry systems, managing and creating files, i.e. Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
  • Knowledge of insurance highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology highly desirable.
  • Must be able to function under stressful situations.

Physical Requirements

  • Position will be primary light work, requiring occasional lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Occasional bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling and reaching is required.
  • The position requires mostly sitting with periods of standing and walking.
  • Works in a clean, well-lighted, heated or ventilated facility.
  • No routine exposure to hazards.
  • May have occasional exposure to blood, body substances, infectious materials, chemical hazards, vibration, radiation, slippery surfaces or noise that may result from performance of duties.
  • Physical Demands: Demonstrates physical and functional ability to perform full anatomical range of motion to accomplish tasks.
  • Evidence of visual and aural acuity and finger and hand dexterity to operate computer and office equipment.
  • Can withstand long periods of sitting, standing and/or constant walking.
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs.
