Responsibilities
- Collect correct upfront information to ensure proper care for the patient.
- Billing and collection of payment.
- Register in all ancillary areas of the Patient Access Department.
- Coordinate with all departments of the facility.
Qualifications
- Minimum Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum Experience: Six (6) months of customer service experience required.
- Strong attention to detail and accurate information recording required.
- Able to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficient computer skills including data entry systems and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
- Knowledge of insurance desirable.
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology desirable.
- Able to function under stressful situations.
- No required certification or registration.
Physical Requirements
- Primary light work, requiring occasional lifting and/or carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Occasional bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling and reaching.
- Mainly sitting with periods of standing and walking.
- Position will require occasional exposure to blood, body substances, infectious materials, chemical hazards, vibration, radiation, slippery surfaces or noise.
