Patient Access Representative - Per Diem

Job Duties

• Checks patients in for appointments and verifies demographics.
• Completes check-in procedures and monitors patient wait times.
• Reads and interprets insurance responses.
• Ensures patient receives necessary disclosure and privacy information, obtains necessary legal and financial signatures.
• Communicates financial obligations to patients and collects fees at time of service.
• Communicates the purpose of and completes all necessary regulatory forms with patient.
• Schedules follow-up appointments as needed.
• Processes multi-channel messages related to patient and/or physician requests.
• Notifies patients or guarantors of anticipated financial responsibility and collects accordingly.
• Performs cash posting following department guidelines.
• Maintains confidentiality and follows organizational and HIPAA guidelines.
• Independently works work queues to ensure timely resolution of all accounts.
• Accurately performs medical record maintenance and releases.
• Affords assistance with referrals and pre-certifications, at the time of encounter.
• Utilizes and maintains patient recall and reschedule lists.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)
• Minimum of 1 year-related work experience
