PATIENT ACCESS REPRESENTATIVE-NIGHT SHIFT

About the role

This is a Full-Time Night Position.

Responsibilities

• Serves as a friendly and courteous point of contact for patients in person and on the phone.
• Verifies and obtains patient information accurately.
• Admits and registers patients for all services performed at MRH.
• Collects co-pays and handles other financial transactions as needed.
• Processes returned mail and acts as a liaison between various parties.
• Improves and evaluates processes within the hospital.
• Consults and educates hospital staff on relevant areas of expertise.
• Ensures compliance with policies and procedures.
• Identifies and reports potential abuse cases.
• Maintains a positive rapport with other departments and staff.
• Coordinates insurance, preauthorization, benefits verification, and pre-registration activities.
• Prioritizes tasks and completes assignments within time limits.
• Works collaboratively with colleagues and assists in employee orientation.
• Performs cross-training in other departments as necessary.
• Educates patients about financial assistance options.
• Completes miscellaneous reports and performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old (21 for positions requiring driving).
• Licensed to work in the United States.
• Passes a background check.
• Passes a pre-employment drug screen and breath alcohol test (if applicable).
• Completes an Employee Health meeting before starting employment.
• Required: Knowledge of medical terminology, computer experience, customer service experience, and bilingual skills.
• Preferred: Additional experience and certifications.
