Job Summary
Affords assistance in coordinating activities between scheduling, insurance verification, and pre-certification. Serves as a clinical liaison with physician practices, engaging in pre-visit services.
Pre-registers/Registers Patients
- Accurately captures patient demographic and financial data
- Registers patients using various methods, including mobile carts
Insurance Verification and Referrals
- Verifies coverage and ensures all insurance requirements are met
- Obtains prior authorizations and referrals as necessary
Customer Service and Conflict Management
- Responds to customer inquiries
- Manages daily appointment schedules, including reminder calls and contacting referrals
- May transport patients using escort or wheeled transport equipment
Skills and Knowledge
- Demonstrated knowledge of Medical Terminology and CPT/ICD-10 coding (preferred)
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook (preferred)
- Knowledge of insurance processes and regulations (preferred)
- Ability to manage conflict effectively and professionally (required)
- Excellent time management skills, emphasizing meeting time-sensitive deadlines (required)
- Good customer service and interpersonal skills (required)
Department / Location Specific Notes
Care Delivery Area and Outpatient Clinics: A strong background in customer service may be considered in lieu of medical office or related experience.

- Exerts up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects
