Patient Access Representative - ER

Responsibilities

• Reception and registration of Emergency Department patients, including patient interviews and insurance verification.
• Explanation of hospital policies regarding visitation, payment for charges, and services available.
• Handles routine patient inquiries and problems.
• Screens visitors and releases patient condition information when authorized.
• Emphasis on excellent customer service skills as well as attention to detail.
• Familiarity with multiline phone systems preferred.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous switchboard experience and knowledge of hospital systems preferred.

Qualifications

• Qualified candidate will have exceptional attention to detail.
• Experience with medical terminology.
• Advanced computer skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.
