Patient Access Representative
About the role
We are seeking a Patient Access Representative to provide exceptional customer service while supporting patient registration, admissions, and front-office operations. This role is responsible for greeting patients and visitors, verifying demographic and insurance information, completing registration processes, explaining required forms, and ensuring a positive patient experience. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and able to multitask effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and check in patients and visitors in a professional and courteous manner.
- Register patients and accurately enter demographic information into the electronic medical record system.
- Verify patient and visitor identity by collecting required information and reviewing photo identification.
- Explain consent forms and admissions paperwork and obtain required signatures.
- Determine patient payment responsibilities and identify individuals who may require financial assistance.
- Verify insurance coverage and eligibility while ensuring accurate documentation.
- Distribute and collect admissions and registration documents.
- Answer and direct incoming phone calls, addressing patient questions and concerns.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and organizational policies.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient patient flow and a positive patient experience.
- Perform additional administrative and front-desk duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience in patient registration, patient access, healthcare administration, or customer service.
- Experience using Epic or a similar electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Strong customer service and patient service skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- High attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Able to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a hospital, clinic, urgent care, or healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of insurance verification and patient financial responsibility processes.
- Familiarity with admissions, registration, and front-office workflows.

This is a Contract position based out of Santa Rosa, CA.
Pay And Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
