About the role
The Patient Access Representative is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to patients and their families, ensuring accurate billing and insurance processing, and maintaining a positive patient experience.
Responsibilities
- Handle patient inquiries regarding insurance coverage, payment options, and billing statements.
- Process insurance claims and ensure timely submission to third-party payers.
- Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and insurance companies to resolve billing issues and discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and policies related to billing and insurance processing.
- Prepare and maintain accurate medical records and documentation.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall operations of the department.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One year of experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic knowledge of healthcare coding and billing systems.
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
